I need to first start by saying I'm not here to bash any company. But I've seen a lot of things in my time as a network marketer. Yes, I started way way back in the 90s when we'd wear business suits to hotel meetings. Double-breasted. I was looking SHARP! Clean shaven and ready to draw circles like a boss!
I remember a business leader up on stage mentioning one of the products, toilet paper. Given the current pandemic, that is a good business with which to be involved. For real!
The wise gentleman on stage said, "I don't care if there is a depression, recession, or any kind of 'ession... people are still gonna buy toilet paper."
This leads me to suggest 3 things to look for when considering a network marketing business.
1. Products Are Consumable
I don't care if it's makeup, electricity, essential oils, skincare, or what have you. Are people going to use it every week? Every day is preferable. I've seen a lot of companies expand their product lines to incorporate more items involved in everyday life. Pardon me for saying this, but I could be wrong. Does anyone have fake eyelashes on autoship? Like I said, I could be wrong. I don't know about these things.
So, this leads me to the next item on the list.
2. Products Are Best in Class
Is the company the best? Are they the pioneer in the industry? Are they a legacy company who has stood the test of time. Yeah, we are all looking for that ground floor opportunity into the next new thing. I just want to make sure my bonus check is good!
But back to what I was saying, look for a company who is on top of research and development. Look around to see if other companies are attempting to copy them. Do your research! Don't just read headlines. Dig in. And don't believe the first negative comments you read. Most of the time they are competing businesses bashing one another.
If I wanted to start with a new company, I would go tour their facility. You should be interviewing them if you are going to be committing your life and reputation to promoting their products or services.
3. Products For Everyone
Are the products for everyone? Young or old? Male or female? Living in the US or anywhere else in the world? Mothers, fathers, singles, teens, babies? Fat, skinny, muscular? Sick or healthy?
When you work with a network marketing company you want it to be legit. If they provide a service, does it even work? I've seen a company before who was so focused on recruiting for a new high tech service filled with all of the buzzwords that was growing like crazy... but their service didn't even work. I tested it thoroughly. How can people sell something like that? Because it's new. It's a ground floor opportunity! It's kind of sad, really.
But you never know unless you try. Try them all if you have to. But hurry up. Don't spend your life kicking tires. Run alongside someone you like, know, and trust. You might as well enjoy the journey!
